Chapel Hill And Carrboro Soccer League Summer 7vs7 Soccer Season * Pay as you go $5.00 per player per game. The team captain’s goal is to get 7 players to the field at all games. You can have anyone you want as long as the player is not playing on another CHAC 7v7 team. The five dollar fee will be collected from each player before each game so if you don’t go to the game you don’t have to pay. You can add or subtract players from your team until the beginning of the tournament. Each player will be required to sign a liability waiver log promising not to sue me, Melissa, CHAC, other players and the game official for any mishap or injury. The log will be provided before each game. * Games will be played at Anderson Park in Carrboro on Sundays and Thursdays. Sunday game times will be 5:00pm, 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Thursday game times will be 6:30 pm and 7:20 pm. There is also the possibility of playing at UNC brand new turf field but I have not confirmed that yet. If it is allowed than we can make Thursday games at a later time. * Here is a list of the dates I have reserved so far. Sunday June 25th, Thursday June 29th, Thursday July 6th, Sunday July 9th, Thursday July 13th, Sunday July 16th and Wednesday July 19th. The league will run through the 3rd week in August. Teams will play two games a week and if there is enough interest may be two games in the same day. * The games will consist of two 25 minute halves and the field sized will be half of a normal soccer field, this will allow for two games to be played simultaneously. * The tournament will consist of the first 8 teams in the standings and will be completed within a two day period. Teams will be guaranteed at least 8 games each. * Rules of Play 1. All FIFA rules apply except for the following. a. No offside b. One Referee c. Cards: a cautioned (yellow card) player will sit out for 5 minutes and his or her team will play short for five minutes. A player receiving a red card will sit out the rest of the game; his or her team will play short the rest of the game and will not be allowed to play in the next game. d. No goalkeepers, small metal goals will be used and a two yard box extending from the position of the goal into the field of play will be drawn. If a defensive player is hit, touches, or blocks the ball while within this two yard box a goal will be awarded to the opposing team. No goaltending will be allowed like basketball. If and offensive player touches or shoots the ball into the net while within the box the goal will be disallowed and a goal kick will be awarded to the defensive team. e. Attacking teams are not allowed to shoot from their own half of the field, if the ball goes into the opposing goal before crossing midfield and has not been touched by a player across midfield, the goal will be disallowed and a goal kick awarded to the defending team. f. Penalty kicks will be awarded for a breakaway foul or a foul in the opinion of the referee is severe enough to issue a red card by the referee. The person designated to defend his goal during a penalty kick will not be allowed to move, however he or she can stand in any which way they want in front of their goal. The defending team can choose not to have anyone if front of goal.
